CounterBalance Gym is excited to announce the first-ever TACFIT TEAM-UP. This 3-day event will celebrate the 1-year anniversary of Tacfit Eagle Rock. Running from August 12-14th, 2022, the weekend will be an in-depth immersion into the myriad facets of TACFIT and VKNJA systems. We are bringing in a cast of incredibly talented coaches, both from in-house and around the world. These coaches will be presenting lectures on the science behind the system, as well as guiding workouts for participants to experience the system for themselves. Whether you’ve never tried TACFIT, or are a seasoned student ready to kick your training up a notch, this event is open to all levels. TACFIT® is a strategically-precise fitness system designed to provide fast recovery from exercise intensity. The fundamental workout system uses 26 workouts, with 4 different levels of challenge, and 6 different protocols of timing.

TACFIT helps anyone access their innate fitness potential, by restoring their function in practical movement: the way your body was designed and has evolved to freely move without pain. Instead of the conventional “boot camp” mentality, which emphasizes unnecessarily long aerobic work, TACFIT is 20 minutes of safely intense exercise (preceded by target specific warm-up exercises and followed by customized compensatory cool-down exercises).

The exercises are performed with kettlebells, clubbells, parralette bars, medicine balls, pull-up bars, gymnastic rings or straps, sandbags and plyometric boxes, as well as bodyweight exercises, all designed to help you get leaner, fitter, stronger, and more agile. If you donʼt have one or more of these apparati, the TACFIT suite of highperformance modular programs cater to your access to equipment and include bodyweight alternatives for all weighted exercises.

ESIK MELLAND

Erik 'ESIK' Melland is the consummate artist. From singing to photography to graphic design and now as a TACFIT US Director and designer of the VKNAJ Steel Mace Certification, his artistry always shines through his work. The level of energy that ESIK brings to any of his projects and to TACFIT/VKNJA communities are undeniable. Mastering all levels to coaching and performing exercises in the TACFIT system, ESIK instructs in a very basic way of understanding that makes his instructions easy to follow along to. ESIK has been in the TACFIT system for over a decade and has been pushing his Steel Mace system (VKNJA) for 7 years and going.

ERIN FURRY

Erin began training alongside Erik "Esik".Melland, the founder of Viking Ninja Training. The two formed an unbreakable bond- Esik began mentoring Erin, providing her with the knowledge he has gained through training and life experience. Erin has a deep skill in understanding bodyweight, boxing, steel mace, and other various non-traditional martial arts training, which evolved into the creation and development of Steel Mace Yoga. Erin created the first ever Steel Mace Yoga curriculum in 2017. She is Yoga Certified with RYT 500, is a License massage therapist and owns Luminous Heart Wellness.

Erin has dedicated to herself to yoga, fitness, the evolution of self + spiritual awareness, and seeks to bring these concepts into every steel mace yoga class.

ROBERT MILLER

Born in Scranton, PA played sports growing up mostly basketball and always loved martial arts. Moved to LA in 2010 to pursue a stunt career. Began training at legacy Burbank in 2013 with Alberto crane and in 2016 stated the tacfit classes at legacy. From there I grew into a team leader and head coach at tacfitLA.
